Chinese myth精卫填海

Yandi(a god who created Chinese) has 4 daughters, the smallest on is called Nuva.


She really wants to go to Donghai to see the sun rising. But her father is too busy, he doesn`t have time to bring her there. One day, Nuva went to Donghai by herself without telling his father. Unfortunately, there was a huge storm, Nuva fell into the sea and drowned. She would never come back. Her father Yandi was very sad.

Nuva was dead, her soul became a little bird, flower-coloured head, white nib and chirped’Jingwei,Jingwei’, so people called her Jingwei.

Jingwei hated the sea because it has carried off her young life, so she wanted to avenge so she never stopped bringing gravel from the Fajiu Mountain to fill the sea in. She worked like that every day with her sorrowfulchriping.

The sea was blustering and running. He laughed at her,’Little bird, although you work millions of years, you couldn`t fill me in! ‘

‘No matter how many years I use, I will fill you in, until the end of the universe!’Nuva said.

‘But why do hate me so much?’The sea was confused.

‘You`ve taken off my life and you`ll take off others as well in the future. I will never stop until you are disappeared.’

But Nuva has been so tired, she has been exhausted one day and finally died.



炎帝有一个小女儿，叫女娃。女娃十分乖巧，黄帝见了她，也都忍不住夸奖她，炎帝视女娃为掌上明珠。


　　炎帝不在家时，女娃便独自玩耍，她非常想让父亲带她出去，到东海——太阳升起的地方去看一看。可是因为父亲忙于公事：太阳升起时来到东海,直到太阳落下；日日如此，总是不能带她去。这一天，女娃没告诉父亲，便一个人驾着一只小船向东海太阳升起的地方划去。不幸的是，海上突然起了狂风大浪，像山一样的海浪把女娃的小船打翻了，女娃不幸落入海中，终被无情的大海吞没了，永远回不来了。炎帝固然痛念自己的小女儿，但却不能用太阳光来照射她,使她死而复生，也只有独自神伤嗟叹了。

　　女娃死了，她的精魂化作了一只小鸟，花脑袋，白嘴壳，红色的爪子，发出“精卫、精卫”的悲鸣，所以，人们便叫此鸟为“精卫”。

　　精卫痛恨无情的大海夺去了自己年轻的生命，她要报仇雪恨。因此，她一刻不停地从她住的发鸠山上衔了一粒小石子，展翅高飞，一直飞到东海。她在波涛汹涌的海面上回翔阒，悲鸣着，把石子树枝投下去，想把大海填平。

　　大海奔腾着，咆哮着，嘲笑她：“小鸟儿，算了吧，你这工作就干一百万年，也休想把我填平！”

　　精卫在高空答复大海：“哪怕是干上一千万年，一万万年，干到宇宙的尽头，世界的末日，我终将把你填平的！”

　　“你为什么这么恨我呢？”

　　“因为你夺去了我年轻的生命，你将来还会夺去许多年轻无辜的生命。我要永无休止地干下去，总有一天会把你填成平地。”
